The Black girls Restoring, Affirming and Valuing Each Other (BRAVE) conference is brought to you by our Graduation Coaches for Black Students, and will be held on October 23, 2024 (Wednesday) at the Catholic Education Centre from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
This year’s theme is: SHELeads: Defining success on our terms.
This year's BRAVE conference aims to empower Black girls to take charge of their futures and define success on their terms! This conference is designed to inspire, educate, and equip young Black girls with the tools and confidence to shape their paths to success!
Over-all Goals of BRAVE:
Reinforcing empowerment of Black girls to celebrate and write their own authentic stories.
Changing the narrative of what it means to be a brave girl, honing on empowerment & motivation.
Support the Multi-Year Strategic Plan (MYSP) of the Toronto Catholic District School Board (TCDSB) to develop responsive learning environments that engage marginalized students.
Support the Equity Action Plan Priority of Dismantling Anti-Black Racism.
Provide a platform for Black girls to share their lived experiences while building allyship and belonging.
